As soon as Carrissa saw me, she came running towards me and gave me a huge hug! I got to see ‘my friend’ (as she refers us to) again for her and her family’s annual portraits and as always, we had a great time as I photographed their fun-loving bond. The hugs, the smiles, the kisses…they were all freely given that day! We walked through Old Town Manassas which is always a wonderful spot for portraits. There’s a cute little train station painted in vibrant red and a fun train cab that kids can climb on and pretending to be a train conductor. I also particularly love the giant ‘love’ sign hoisted on a train bed. The word embodies exactly what family portraits portray – the unconditional love for each other, the closeness and bonds, and the memories that they will always keep in their hearts and minds.
