One of my favorite things that comes from being a local family photographer is reuniting with long lost friends of high school days past. Andrea and I met on Annandale High School’s dance team, shaking what our mama gave us for our classmate’s entertainment. 15 years later, we met again, through her successful side hustle, Posh Pets Grooming where I take my lazy foxhound Jasper for his semi-annual spa day. A few months later I got to meet her family – a loving husband, a sweet little daughter Mika and her adorable pug Toby for a photo session at Lake Braddock on a chilly early December afternoon. Mika and Toby cuddled and the whole family had a great time bonding as they knew that these were Toby’s final months of his adventurous pug life. It touched my heart knowing that Andrea knew the importance of keeping Toby’s memory alive through these photographs and it is my hope that this family can find joy knowing that Toby loved them as much as they loved him, as it’s evident in the collection below. This post is in loving honor of sweet Toby, 2001 – 2015, who is dearly missed but will never be forgotten.
You described this day, this memory, and the importance and love of my little..and especially my old man, Tobes. I cried a little..bittersweet, but mostly happy tears, because we not only got to share this wonderful day with him, but we got the chance to capture it all! I can’t thank you enough.
