3 years, 9 months, 3 weeks, three days and counting…
This is how long Blair & Brian have been together. The following is a snippet of their sweet love story:
Prelude: It’s important to remember that this is not just a story of Blair & Brian. It is also a story of friendship. All the people who are referenced in this story (Annie, Anna, Billy, Ali, Lauren, and Casey), as well as others, played a part in helping them come together and of course, have been included in their wedding!
It was the summer of 2012 and Blair had just moved in with her childhood best friend, Annie. Annie introduced her to her group of friends and Blair quickly saw that they were an awesome group of people so she started hanging out with them more and more. The 4th of July that summer was the first night Blair & Brian remember officially meeting each other at Anna and Billy’s house. Brian and Blair were introduced briefly but did not spend a lot of time talking. Brian remembers thinking Blair was pretty and he wanted to talk more but thought some other guys were already interested in her and didn’t want to get in the way.
A few months later, in autumn, they were both at Anna and Billy’s again. This time Brian and Blair talked almost the whole night. She remembers trying to flirt with him and feeling the beginnings of a crush. Brian remembers feeling so happy that he had gotten to spend so much time with her but was convinced he did not “have a chance.”
Finally, on November 16 2012, while celebrating another mutual friend Lauren’s birthday, Blair saw Brian again and her heart began flutter. After learning about Blair’s crush, Lauren gave Brian the ‘go ahead’ to pursue Blair. After buying her favorite beer, Blair & Brian spoke all night again, being goofy and having fun with each other – with Blair trying to impress Brian with her ‘sarcasm’. On the way to the car they held hands and Brian remembers looking at their hands as they walked and feeling “this beautiful, silly and ’sarcastic’ (inside joke) woman is someone I want to get to know better and hopefully we will become close.” When he got home that night he could not wait to talk to her again, sending her a Facebook message saying he had fun, he wanted to see me again soon, and gave me his phone number. There has not been a day that we haven’t talked to each other since then.
Brian later said about that night, “I didn’t know whether we would date at the time but I knew she was someone I wanted to be a part of my life. I couldn’t stop thinking about her for the rest of the night and couldn’t wait to speak to her again. I didn’t know it at the time but that night was the most significant night of my life.”
Blair loves how Brian can give her a laugh until you cry kind of laugh, and accepts her for exactly as she is, and how much fun they have together. Brian loves Blair’s shyness in a crowd, her humor, and her smile when she looks at him. These two just enjoy being best friends – doing life together, in the adventure and the mundane. As long as they are with each other, all is right in the world.
